Merkel is a small town in West Texas.  With a population of approximately 2700, it's a nice place to raise a family.  Everyone is welcome to stop in our local shops and meet some new people.

New Things!!!

Hey everybody...  In the past I've had people ask me about putting up something so anyone who every graduated could network.  Well, I think I found the perfect thing.  It's kind of like myspace.com but it is dedicated just to people who have an interest in Merkel.  Check out the new Classes of... page.  It's still in the beginning stages but I'm modifying it as quick as I can get to it.  Right now I'm using the free edition so there are ads wanting you to buy things.  If any of you out there want to contribute financially to this website, it costs $24.95 per month (yearly intervals of $299.40) to have the ads removed and I would be glad to invest the time to do that.  You can drop an email to goodnews@merkeltx.com and I'll tell you how to contribute the money.  If you can't do the $299.40 and want to donate a smaller amount, say $50, drop me an email also.

Ok.  Here goes.  I know I will get some criticism for this but frankly, I'm happy and really don't care.  If you watch the news at night, you will hear all about the bad things that have happened.  Bad things might be "News Worthy" but I'm tired of hearing about the bad things that have happened.  I want to hear about the good things that have happened.  Like the Merkel Football Team doing so well.  Birthdays are good things.  Anniversaries are good things.  A new baby is a good thing (in most cases).  Therefore, this website will deal with all the good, happy, cheery, pleasant, or down right funny things that have happened in, around, or somewhere within 12,450 miles of Merkel.  (Any Geeks out there realize that is about half the circumference of the earth?) 

I'll try to keep this website updated as often as I can.  I can't guarantee anything.  I do have a life of my own that includes my own children.  But I want anyone with good news to send it to me so I can put it up here.  You can send emails to goodnews@merkeltx.com.
